THE EVERYDAY THINGS THAT MATTER

Life feels better
with good company.

Sometimes it’s a shared cup of tea. Sometimes it’s the confidence to get out and enjoy the day. These are the kinds of support we can talk about together.

Company at home

Conversation, a favourite book or simply someone to share a quiet afternoon with. A familiar face and time to listen.

Out & about

A gentle walk, a café visit or a browse around the garden centre. Enjoying the places you love, at your pace.

A helping hand

Company on shopping trips and practical help with everyday errands, with the arrangements agreed together.

A break for family carers

Company for your loved one while you see friends, get out or take a little time for yourself, where their support needs can be met.

Hobbies & shared interests

A crossword, a favourite album or a project you enjoy. Making time for familiar interests and discovering things together.

Company at appointments

Someone alongside you in the waiting room, and a friendly conversation along the way. Discuss travel and access needs in advance.

Keeping in touch

Time to write a card, look through family photographs or share a call with someone you miss. Little ways to feel connected.

Your familiar routines

Visits shaped around the rhythm of your day: a morning chat, an afternoon activity or something to look forward to each week.

CONNECTION MAKES A DIFFERENCE

Feeling less alone.
More to look forward to.

When days feel quiet, having someone to talk to can mean a great deal. A familiar face, shared laughter and plans to look forward to can help ease loneliness and lift the day.

Companionship can support emotional wellbeing and make it easier to stay connected, enjoy familiar interests and take part in everyday life. Feeling more connected can also encourage everyday routines and gentle activity, supporting overall wellbeing.

Lisa’s aim is to build a relationship around the person: what they enjoy, what they find difficult and what would make their week feel brighter.

CARING HAS ALWAYS BEEN PART OF WHO I AM

Hello, I’m Lisa.
Lovely to meet you.

I’ve spent years in roles that have brought me close to older members of our community. Getting to know people, listening to their stories and making time for a real conversation have always mattered to me.

But it was my mum, Violet, who showed me just how much companionship can mean. As she moved into her nineties, I saw the incredible value of connection: a familiar face, a shared laugh and someone with time to listen.

Violet’s Footsteps is inspired by her memory. It brings together what I learned alongside Mum and my own experience of connecting with older people, offering thoughtful companionship across our local community.

I’d love to hear what you enjoy and what would make your week feel brighter. We can start with a conversation, with your wishes at the heart of it.

Let’s get to know each other

THE HEART BEHIND THE NAME

In memory of Violet.
A legacy of connection.

Violet was Lisa’s mum, and the inspiration for Violet’s Footsteps. As Violet reached her nineties, Lisa saw how much it meant to have someone to talk with, share everyday moments with and feel connected to.

Violet is no longer here, but that lesson stays with Lisa. This service carries her memory forward through time, kindness and companionship for older people in our community.

TIME FOR YOU, TOO

When you care for someone,
you need care too.

Looking after a husband, wife, partner or family member can be a big part of everyday life. Your own friendships, interests and time to rest still matter.

Perhaps you’d like to meet a friend for lunch, go for a walk, keep an appointment or simply enjoy a little time to yourself. Having someone spend time with your loved one can make room for that break.

Taking time for yourself isn’t something to feel guilty about. A chance to rest and reconnect with your own life can help you return feeling more refreshed and supported in your caring role.

Lisa will meet you and your loved one first, listen to what you both need and agree what she can help with. Where companionship is the right fit, she can offer company while you take some time for yourself.

These visits offer companionship, rather than nursing or hands-on personal care. Before you leave your loved one in Lisa’s company, you’ll agree their needs, the arrangements and how to contact you.

LET’S TAKE IT ONE STEP AT A TIME

It starts with a conversation.

Before visits begin, Lisa meets you and, if you wish, your family. Together, you can work out what support would make a difference.

1

Say hello

Start with a friendly conversation about yourself or your loved one, the situation at home and what you hope companionship could bring.

2

Meet you & your family

Lisa meets the person she’ll support and any family they want involved. There’s time to share interests, ask questions and see whether everyone feels comfortable.

3

Agree a plan together

Decide what you want to achieve, which activities would help and how visits will fit your routine. Companionship is £25 per hour, with arrangements agreed before starting.

A FEW THINGS YOU MAY BE WONDERING

A little more
reassurance.

Can I enquire on behalf of a loved one?

Yes. You can start the conversation as a family member or friend. The person receiving companionship should be involved in deciding what feels right for them.

What support can we arrange?

Start by discussing companionship and everyday activities. The exact tasks, practical arrangements and boundaries will need to be agreed with Lisa before any visits begin.

Can Lisa offer company while I take a break from caring?

Where companionship meets your loved one’s needs, Lisa can spend time with them while you take a break. You’ll meet first to discuss routines, the support required and contact arrangements. Visits do not include nursing or hands-on personal care; any needs beyond companionship must be discussed before a visit is agreed.

How much do visits cost?

Lisa’s companionship rate is £25 per hour. You’ll discuss the support you need, visit length and practical arrangements together before booking. Any separate outing expenses or travel arrangements should also be agreed in advance.

Is this a nursing or personal care service?

This website introduces a companionship service. Nursing, medication administration and hands-on personal care are not advertised here. Please discuss any specific needs before arranging support.
